Clearing House Management

  • Employers of CDL drivers are required to submit queries to the FMCSA Clearinghouse for both current and potential drivers in order to check for drug and alcohol violations. These queries must be made at least once a year for current employees and prior to hiring.

With our clearinghouse services, we would step in to conduct queries and report violations on behalf of employers or owner-operators.

Keep in mind, Failure to conduct required queries can result in fines of up to $2,500 per violation.

$35 (Anually)

Supervisor/DER Training

  • DOT Reasonable Suspicion training is required for supervisors of CDL drivers requiring at least 2 hours (60 minutes each for alcohol and drugs) on recognizing symptoms of substance use to lead to testing, with exceptions only for owner-operators who do not supervise anyone.

    Consequence:

If a supervisor in a DOT-regulated company does not complete the required reasonable suspicion training, the company faces serious penalties, including hefty fines (up to $10,000 per violation), failing DOT audits, legal action, and jeopardized safety, as the supervisor will not know how to properly identify substance misuse, leading to noncompliance and potential risks to safety-sensitive employees.

$45 (One Time Cost Per Supervisor)

DOT Policy Template

  • If you employ CDL drivers, you must have a DOT-compliant policy (49 CFR Part 382) for safety-sensitive tasks or you face penalties.

You risk significant federal penalties, such as being banned from safety-sensitive operations until you complete a mandatory Substance Abuse Professional program, you could also face hefty fines for your company, and potential operational shutdowns, because a proper policy is not only recommended, but also legally required for covered employees (such as CDL drivers, pilots, and mechanics) by 49 CFR Part 40.
